The results of the Economically Active Population Survey (EPA) for the first quarter of 2019 lead us to draw relevant conclusions that are exposed in this brief article. Employment is one of the main drivers of the economy, and the unemployment rate, the most followed indicator to determine the stage of the economic cycle, is critical for establishing expansive or restrictive economic policies. Economic players may drive significant benefits by correctly anticipating economic policies. Hence, monitoring the employment data in Spain is of great importance now that it is the catalyst for its growth above the Eurozone, especially since the latest reading contradicts the mainstream vision of the economy.
