Because they: i) offer interesting returns (5%), ii) offer protection against potential increases (expected) in inflation and interest rates, (iii) minimize reinvestment risk, (iv) have a reduced correlation with other financial assets, (v) their credit risk is manageable and, (vi) their market risk is limited.
