2016 was a landmark year: for the first time since the crisis, the eurozone economy grew by more than that of the United States. Despite the fact that it was only marginal, it marked a significant turning point. This statistic was maintained through the first half of 2017, with eurozone growth levels of 2.5% annually, which could accelerate to near 3% for the second half of the year. In our opinion, the eurozone will continue outperforming the US in 2017, and potentially maintain this through 2018.
