The COVID-19 pandemic is a highly dynamic phenomenon for which constant monitoring is essential to properly adapt to its changes. Scientific research carried out in Israel and the United Kingdom, among other countries, has opened debate as to whether a booster dose is necessary for reducing hospitalisations and deaths over the next few months. In this chartbook, we analyse the situation by answering the following questions:
Does the efficacy of vaccines wane over time against contagion and against severe cases?
Does the third dose reinforce protection? Is it necessary for the whole population?
