Since the Spanish economy has a strong international exposure (Spain exports almost 35% of its GDP, compared to a world average closer to 25%), events in the foreign arena ripple through our country, although relevant domestic demand dynamics, mainly consumption, must be also taken into account. We have analysed this mix of factors to try to determine whether the threat of a recession in Spain is real.
