In this short report we examine the implications of the recently approved U.S. 61-billion-dollar aid package to Ukraine for weapons, equipment, and grants, aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defensive capabilities against Russian advances and critical infrastructure attacks. Despite the aid, the war has evolved into a war of attrition, with both Ukraine and Russia ramping up recruitment and military expenditures to sustain their positions. The ongoing conflict underscores a broader geopolitical tension and necessitates increased European defence spending.
