The emergence of a new Omicron lineage, known as BA.2, has sparked fears about the future progression of the pandemic. Based on evidence from the medical data collected and on the progression of this new lineage in Denmark and the United Kingdom, where it was first detected, our document attempts to elucidate how restrictions imposed as a result of the pandemic could unfold.
