The global industry has generally shown signs of weakness for some time. Although its impact is not highly visible in advanced countries’ economies, which depend more on services, it is by no means irrelevant. Hence, the importance of closely monitoring its evolution. Moreover, specific sectors and countries do have greater exposure.
